Change Is Inevitable - Roll With It

I've managed to resist the need to constantly update my Facebook status, Tweet and otherwise expose myself on the many online media available. Until now that is.

My reasoning for the above was that I had a life. I'm not anti-information or anything. I love reading, researching even the slightest little thing that I come across (yesterday for instance the Streisand Effect). It's just that I didn't couldn't be arsed. Who's got time to sit and read through the randomness of what's in people's minds? Furthermore, who cares? Surely your time would be better spent out with friends, seeing your family, actually doing something with your life rather than sitting there reading about everyone elses?

So now here I am, writing a blog. I'm a hypocrite. I have also spent the past couple of weeks stuck like glue to FB, desperately trying to keep abreast of what people are doing back at home. I now care about the randomness of people's thoughts. I am that person who is now not out with friends and family, although on the premise of doing something with my life.

New location, new home, new people, new job, new culture, new job culture - it's a lot to get used to! I'm a firm believer that change is inevitable. I have been for the past 4 years after realising that you have to change things yourself rather than waiting for things to happen. And then once change begins, the best thing is to roll with it.

So as I start down a new path of enlightenment, this is one change I will invoke - my mindset around personal communication. I will embrace the random iPhone uploaded pictures. I will endorse those who are looking forward to bingo on Thursday and that like Flight of the Conchords. And I will impart details of my innermost gripes with the world!

In saying all that, I still won't tweet - it's ridiculous! Especially when you're gonna publish it on Facebook anyway..... you know who you are!
